Ubuntu is a Southern African term in which shared meaning is defined through as "connectedness that exists" or "should exist between people." Outside of the continent of Africa,Ubuntu is known as a humanist ideology. Concepts such as behaving well towards others or acting in ways that benefit the community are additional alternative meanings to Ubuntu. Ubuntu means “Humanity” in Xhosa and "human nature" in Zulu. This concept, according to the sociologist Buntu Mfenyana, presents as a spiritual principle for all South African indigenous cultures.
