Fees depend on the type of assessment and clinician involved.

Billing & Credit Card Policy

To support efficient and uninterrupted care, we require that all clients keep an active credit or debit card on file. This allows us to process payments securely and automatically according to your signed Client Service Agreement.

Important billing details:

  • We accept major cards, Health Savings Account (HSA), or Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
  • Payments are processed next day or weekly per agreement.
  • Invoices and payment confirmations are sent via the client portal.
  • You can update your billing info or view balances anytime.

Clients are responsible for any fees not covered by insurance or agencies.

Insurance & Reimbursement

We are in-network with the following insurance providers:

  • Cigna
  • UnitedHealthcare/Optum
  • Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP)
  • Kaiser Permanente (So-Cal)
  • Aetna
  • Molina Healthcare
  • Tricare
  • Magellan
  • BlueCross PPO

If we are out-of-network with your insurance provider, you may still be eligible for partial reimbursement through your out-of-network benefits. In such cases:

  • We'll give you a superbill (itemized receipt with diagnostic codes)
  • You can submit this document directly to your insurance for reimbursement
  • Reimbursement rates vary by plan, deductible, and mental health coverage—please verify this information with your provider

We recommend asking your insurance company the following:

  1. Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health services?
  2. What is my deductible and has it been met?
  3. What percentage of the session cost will be reimbursed?
  4. How do I submit a superbill?

Ubuntu Psychological Services does not bill out-of-network insurance directly.

Public Referrals & Agency Partnerships

We are contracted with several government agencies to provide evaluation services at no cost to clients. If you have been referred by one of the following organizations, you will not be charged for your assessment:

  • San Bernardino County Public Defender’s Office
  • Inland Regional Center
  • San Gabriel/Pomona Regional Center

Our administrative team will verify and manage all billing directly with the referring agency.

Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate (GFE)

Under federal law, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) that outlines the expected cost of your medical and mental health care if you are uninsured or not using insurance.

Your GFE will include:

  • A clear estimate of the total cost of services you are expected to receive
  • Updates as more information is gathered or as your treatment plan evolves
  • Access to download and review your GFE at any time through your client portal

If your actual bill exceeds your GFE by $400 or more, you have the right to dispute the bill
